The Best Help for Depression – Self Help Depression Tips!
You would think anyone that has had depression for most of his or her adult life would have had enough of depression and wouldn’t want to talk about it under any circumstances, let alone have a blog/site about the subject.
I spent a lot of time thinking about what niche I was going to have for my first site whilst trying to ignore the fact that Depression fitted the criteria for taking on a subject I had knowledge and interest in.
When you have lived nearly all your adult life with depression, it stands to reason you/I would just want to forget about it and move on.
But I suppose now, I dont just look at depression per se, I look at it in a wider context in terms of happiness. Because it’s through having depression that you have come to truly appreciate happiness.
This site is my therapy and a reminder of how not to slip back into old ways….but more importantly, it is for you because helping others is how we all help ourselves.
Communicating my ideas and ways to cope with depression, helps enforce the importance of positive thinking and all that I practice and preach.
But even better, and amongst other things, I can show you how to deal with depression without medication and heal yourself.
MINDSET IS EVERYTHING!
Every healing modality I mention on this site, will all have have been tried and tested by myself and have played some part in my healing.
Healing can be a process, unique to each one of us….sometimes it’s just about re-programming our brains, because sometimes the greatest battles are with our minds.
Happiness is not something you pursue, because to pursue it indicates you dont have it.
You do have it, you just need to know how to find it and feel it!
Maybe it’s only people that have been depressed, and come out the other end, that really know the true meaning of happiness?
Happiness is only found by helping others to find it.
Or if not depression, then times when you have experienced hardships, crisis, and great sadness!
IT NEVER GETS EASIER – IT JUST GETS BETTER!
Never thought I’d be saying there had been a benefit to having depression.
If you had suggested that to me eighteen months ago I would have told you to F— Off!!
It took me a long long while before I realized I didn’t have to fight and search for happiness it was there all the time.
The only thing that got in the way was my thinking and thoughts.
Depression is not something that just appears one morning when you awake – because the reality is depression is something that has been growing in you for weeks month or years like any other disease or condition.
The difference compared to any other condition or disease is – it’s been a creation of your own thinking and thoughts.
This will be hard to hear for some people. I know because I resisted this notion for years, because depression already makes you feel unworthy, bad, useless etc. so seeming to be blamed for the reason you have depression is a hard pill to swallow.
You have to get past your own ego for now and just run with the idea it is your mind.
I promise you if you can be courageous and start from that stand point embrace it, and be open to all that is offered on this site you just cannot loose, and you will heal.
Your life is a reflection of your thoughts and thinking…..change your thinking to change your life.
Those thoughts were my own self critic.
Once I shut that up and put it in it’s place, it started to became a whole lot easier
If at times I seem abrupt, direct and insensitive in my writings, this in general is me, my personality and my way of being, ( a result of coming from the “School of Hard Knocks”) but I promise you, I do come from a place of love, concern and empathy!
